Jersey's players are getting ready for the crucial opening home
game in this season's Greene King IPA Championship.
After being disappointed not to win at Moseley last Saturday -
the game finished 22-all - the Islanders are looking for their
first win of the new season. It will be a tough match - visitors
Doncaster Knights won 27-6 at home to Plymouth Albion on Saturday,
and will be out for revenge after the 13-10 defeat at St Peter
sealed their relegation from the Championship in April 2013.
Captains Michael Hills (Doncaster) and Alex Rae
(Jersey)
The big match kicks off at 3pm on Saturday, but ahead of that
the players and coaches will be in Royal Square in St Helier on
Wednesday from 1 to 1.45pm. There'll be a chance for supporters to
meet the whole squad, find out how they're shaping up before the
big game and perhaps get hold of some club kit.
To avoid the queues at St Peter on match-day, get your tickets
(priced £15 for adults) in advance from:
Don't forget that under 18s can gain free admission to the
match, while student tickets cost £5 and adult members pay £10. I/D
or membership cards must be produced for all discounted tickets on
the gate.
Finally, don't forget the regular Friday evening pre-match
reception in the Barclays Pavilion from 5.30- 7.30pm - a chance for
some pre-match banter with supporters of both clubs.
