Jersey born winger Ed Dawson will return to the starting XV for
this weekend's rearranged fixture at The Brickfields. Having gained
two losing bonus points in as many weeks, in what have been closely
fought contests, Jersey will be seeking to convert improving form
into an away victory over Plymouth Albion.
Jersey have a sizeable contingent of former Cornish Pirates,
including Head Coach Harvey Biljon, making them familiar with a
Plymouth team they once considered local rivals.
Furthermore, the results of this season's previous encounters
between the two will be at the forefront of Jersey minds. On the
opening day of the season at Sandy Park in Exeter, the men from
Devon staged a late comeback to win 41-27 and repeated the dose
with an 18-23 win at St. Peter six weeks later.
Dave Young makes his return to the front row after a brief
injury lay off whilst Dave Markham is given the nod to partner
James Voss in the second row. New signing Ryan Hodson retains
the 7 shirt following an industrious debut last week.
In the backline, Joel Dudley switches with Nicky Griffiths at 9,
with Jimmy Williams providing cover on the bench. Dawson returns to
the fray with Grant Pointer having sustained an ankle injury
against Leeds.
On the bench, back rower Ben Maidment returns after a
lengthy hiatus on the sidelines, alongside Sam Lockwood - the prop
is once again eligible for selection having sat out the game
against Leeds due to the terms of the loan deal between the
Yorkshire side and Jersey. Luke Stratford also comes in, replacing
David Felton.
