1. Video Analyst (full time)

Jersey Reds is offering a voluntary role as a performance analyst placement intern for the 2017/2018 season. The year will enable you to develop the knowledge and skills required to work as a performance analyst in professional sport. This placement will offer an all-round learning experience to prepare you for a future career as a performance analyst. The role would suit individuals looking to gain experience within Sport Science who are currently enrolled on, or have recently graduated from a Sports Science or related degree.

Daily Responsibilities:

1. Assist in providing performance analysis support to coaches and players
2. Assist with filming and coding of games and training sessions throughout the season
3. Assist in creating presentations/ presenting the coded games and training sessions
4. Assist in the delivery of data, using applications, to the players
5. Assist in improving and developing the provision of analysis

Please note that the list above is not exclusive and duties may be added or removed, this is an all-inclusive job in which duties may vary.

Developmental Outcomes:

1. To develop an understanding of Performance Analysis in a professional rugby environment
2. To develop an understanding of software used in performance analysis, how to manage these successfully
3. To develop the ability to function effectively in a high-pressure sport environment

Essential Requirements:

• An undergraduate degree, or enrolled in a Sports Science related course
• Comfortable around using computers, wiring and quick at understanding new IT skills
• Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills and experience with statistics
• Reliable and enthusiastic with the ability to work well under pressure
• Strong work ethic and ability to work and communicate as part of a team
• Good attention to detail and ability to focus
• Agree to potentially work unsociable hours including weekends and Bank Holidays

2. Part-time Performance analyst (filming)

Jersey Reds is seeking two casual cover performance analysts to join the club's Analysis Department for match day filming.

Successful applicants will be required to film weekend fixtures. The role would suit individuals looking to gain experience within rugby who are currently looking to start, are enrolled on, or have recently graduated from a Sports Science or related degree.

The interns will gain experience of filming and coding within a professional sport environment, developing the key skills required to work as a performance analyst, as well as receiving full training in the latest performance analysis software. 

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Film Greene King IPA Championship and British & Irish Cup first team home matches for the 2017/18 season.
• Aiding in collating the footage to be coded

Essential Criteria:

• Have a strong desire to learn and develop a new skill set in an applied professional environment.
• Have a keen interest in professional sport
• Willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
• Good knowledge and understanding of rugby.
• All applicants must reside within commutable distance to the team ground.
