JRFC have a welcome weekend off which provides a bit of
breathing space and will help those players carrying injuries.
The rest of the league, bar Tynedale who visited two weeks ago
will be in action and there are a few notable fixtures to
follow.
Ealing vs Sedgley
Tigers. - 2nd placed Ealing came unstuck last
weekend away from home against Blaydon so will look to get back on
winning ways and to make up some ground on JRFC. They come up
against a dogged Sedgley Tigers who, still looking for a result
against one of the top 6, gave JRFC such a hard time last Saturday.
Let's hope they go one better!
Fylde vs
Cambridge. - 3rd placed Fylde have, what looks on
paper, an easier fixture this weekend against Cambridge who, since
making the bold decision to return to amateur playing status are
slightly weakened. Fylde had a last gasp, bonus point win last
weekend and will be looking for another 5 points this Saturday.
Park vs
Macclesfield. - Possibly the pick of the
weekend. 5th entertains 4th, having swapped league places last
weekend. Macclesfield, who are on a fantastic roll and keeping up
the pressure on the top clubs won last weekend, whereas Park
surprisingly came unstuck away from home against lowly placed
Wharfedale.
Blaydon vs
Coventry. - Blaydon are JRFC's next opponents,
and their mid table position is misleading. In the last 6 weeks
Blaydon have been in imperious form and have beaten both Fylde and
Ealing, two results that sandwiched a high scoring drubbing of the
Bees. Whilst unlikely to threaten the top 4 / 5 places in the
league by the end of the season, and having done enough to ensure
#Nat1 status, they are enjoying their rugby, playing with lots of
confidence and causing big upsets.
