There's nothing like a match up with an old rival to spice up a
rugby weekend.
The Jersey v Guernsey rivalry is one of the oldest in rugby, and
it's not necessary to wait until the Siam Cup (pictured
below) in May to witness it. On Saturday 22nd February Jersey
RFC will host the annual inter-insular event, with a representative
XV from the Island's junior clubs taking on their counterparts from
Guernsey.
Kick-off for the match will be at 12noon, and afterwards
there'll be a lunch in the clubhouse and a chance to watch the
closing stage of the Italy v Scotland match in the RBS 6 Nations on
the big screens. And then at 4pm everyone in the clubhouse will
have a grandstand seat for one of the pivotal games of this year's
6N - England v Ireland at Twickenham (k-o 4pm). Ireland are going
for a Grand Slam while England still have ambitions to win the
title after an opening day defeat against France.
Tickets for the lunch are available at the cost of £150 for a
table of 10, or you can book individually at £15 per person. Please
call the club office to book a table - 499929 or email Club Manager Sean Dunne.
Last orders for booking 6pm Thursday.
