Following the Reds' semi-final victory on Sunday, we have been looking at charter flight options so that supporters from the Island can travel with the players to the British & Irish Cup Final against Munster 'A' in Cork on Friday April 21st.
Subject to interest, there is an option to fly direct to Cork from Jersey, leaving on Thursday late afternoon/early evening, or Friday morning. The return flight to Jersey would be on Saturday morning after Friday night's match.
The exact price of a charter isn't yet confirmed, but a price per person of around £400 return looks likely. At this stage we need to have expressions of interest, and would ask for anyone interested to email Kate Innes stating the number of people in your party. If you have any preference for two nights (Thursday/Friday) or one night (Friday only), please state, but otherwise we'll assume that you are prepared to be flexible. Transfers to/from Cork Airport will be arranged, but supporters will need to make their own accommodation arrangements - there are plenty of options in Cork to suit your budget and preferences.
Please email Kate by 8am this Wednesday (April 5th). At this stage no deposit is required, but we will be seeking to confirm the trip and price soon after the above deadline, and will then need to confirm the booking, including full payment.
We're aware that the charter flight is not the cheapest option, but also that getting to Cork is not straightforward, and that some supporters will not wish to make multiple flights on each legs of their journey, and would like to be part of the official trip with the squad. The charter won't be organised in a bid to make a profit, but it's important that the club won't sustain any financial loss from committing to it.
The British & Irish Cup Final, Munster 'A' v Jersey Reds, will be played at Irish Independent Park (pictured below) in Cork on Friday April 21st. Kick-off 7.30pm.
