The Reds started their Championship Cup campaign with a win - their seventh in succession at Vallis Way against Ealing.
It was 17-each at HT with our tries from Maddison and Selway (mauls) and Slowik (a 70m interception). Then the Reds pulled clear early in second half and tries from Beckett, Van Dam and Best (17-38 at that stage). Ealing came back with a couple of tries, Herron added a penalty but 10 points in closing stages helped hosts get 2 losing bonus pts. But it was 5 points to the Reds after 34-41 victory - our first at Vallis Way since National League days (Jan 2012).
