Jersey Reds will complete their pre-season preparations with a match against Aviva Premiership club Harlequins.
The two sides will meet at The Stoop in London on Saturday August 19th (k-o 2pm) as part of a two-season agreement that will see Harlequins visit Jersey in August 2018.
This will be the fifth time that the Reds have taken on Premiership opposition since reaching the Greene King IPA Championship in 2012. Leicester Tigers visited St Peter in 2012 and 2013, and the following year Bath made the trip to the Island. Last year, the Reds achieved their first win over a top-flight side, defeating Worcester Warriors 23-17 at St Peter.
Jersey Head Coach Harvey Biljon said: "Taking on Harlequins will be a really tough challenge, exactly the sort of test that the squad will need ahead of the new Championship campaign. We're under no illusions about the calibre of opponent we'll be facing, but I'm sure the players will relish this opportunity."
The game will be the third and final pre-season hit-out for Biljon's side, who will also face French Pro D2 side RC Vannes in Brittany on Saturday August 5th and a week later will take on Coventry, one of the favourites to make the jump from National 1 to the Championship at the conclusion of this season. The Coventry game will be a 3pm kick-off at St Peter on Saturday August 12th.
The first Greene King IPA Championship game of the new season will see the Reds take on Doncaster Knights at St Peter on Saturday September 2nd at 2.30pm.
