Jersey Reds’ home ground is to be renamed as part of an extended agreement with the Club’s lead sponsor Santander International.
With effect from the start of the 2017/18 league season this weekend, the Reds will play their home matches at Stade Santander International.
Santander International became the Reds’ prime sponsor in 2016 and the local bank has now agreed to extend the three-year partnership by a further two seasons up to 2021. As well as naming rights to the ground, Santander International will also brand the supporters’ marquee.
“We’re thrilled that Santander International have looked to enhance their relationship with Jersey Reds as they go into their second season as our lead sponsor,” said Reds Chairman Mark Morgan. “There’s a really good fit between the two partners, and having support like this is vital for the club, and great for the Island.
“I expect Stade Santander International to quickly become known as the home of the Reds and we’re looking forward to christening the new ground this Saturday when we take on Doncaster Knights in our opening Greene King IPA Championship match of the new season.”
James Pountney, Managing Director of Santander International (pictured below) said: “We’re delighted with the results of sponsoring Jersey Reds in our first year as lead sponsor, so it was an easy decision to enhance our agreement as we approach our second season. We wish Jersey Reds every success in the coming season.”
Jersey Reds will kick off the 2017/18 Greene King IPA Championship with a home game against Doncaster Knights this Saturday. Kick-off at Stade Santander International will be at 2.30pm.
