Jersey Reds will travel to Penzance to take on the Cornish Pirates on Saturday February 27th (k-o 2pm).
The match will form part of both clubs' preparations for the forthcoming Greene King IPA Championship season, which will begin in March.
Although the contest will be played behind closed doors at the Mennaye Field as a result of current Covid-19 restrictions, it will be possible to watch the match via the online platform 247.tv - see link HERE.
Director of Rugby Harvey Biljon, who moved from Pirates to Jersey in 2014, said he was delighted to have been able to agree the fixture with his former club.
'I'm really grateful to the Pirates for their willingness to get this game on and expect it to be hugely beneficial for both sides as we get ready for league rugby,' he said. 'There have been some great games between the clubs over the years and it's nice to have both home and away fixtures in the calendar [the Pirates will travel to the Island for a Championship fixture in May].'
Biljon said he would be using the opportunity to give game-time to members of his squad, some of whom missed the Reds' last outing against Coventry on February 13th.
As with the Coventry trip, the Reds squad will travel on day-trip charter flights with Blue Islands, the club's Official Airline Partner. All members of the touring party, as well as players and other staff at Cornish Pirates, are subject to the enhanced testing programme and other strict Covid-19 protocols that are part of this season's Championship.
Both sides face the challenge of taking on promotion favourites Saracens during the opening rounds of this season's competition. The Pirates host Saracens on Saturday March 6th, while the Reds - who have a bye on the opening weekend - travel to the StoneX Stadium in North London on Saturday March 13th.
