Jersey Reds and the club’s lead sponsor Santander International have extended their agreement.
Santander International has been the club’s lead sponsor since 2016 and took up naming rights to the Reds’ home ground, Stade Santander International, at the start of the 2017/18 season. Two years later and the two partners have now agreed an extension to the sponsorship stretching until the end of the 2024/25 season.
Mark Morgan, Chairman of Jersey Reds, said: "This is tremendous news and is a huge vote of confidence in the future of the Reds. The team at Santander International have been fantastic partners and I look forward to continuing to work closely with James and his colleagues over the next six seasons."
James Pountney, Managing Director of Santander International, said: “We’ve thoroughly enjoyed working with the Reds over the last few years and were delighted to have had the opportunity to extend our relationship. We’d like to wish the team all the best for the coming season. Go Reds!”
News of the extension provides a boost for the Reds heading into the final match of their three-game pre-season series, which sees them take on Guinness PRO14 side Scarlets, who’ll make the journey to Stade Santander International this Saturday.
The Reds have also taken on English National 1 opponents Old Elthamians, scoring six tries in a 36-7 victory, and then really put their name up in lights by travelling to Moscow to take on the Russian national side as part of their hosts’ preparations for the forthcoming Rugby World Cup in Japan, and winning the game 22-35.
Competitive action for the Reds begins with a Championship Cup tie at home to Newcastle Falcons on Saturday September 21st, while the first league match will be at home to Coventry on Saturday October 12th.
