A frustrating return of just a losing bonus point after a good showing in the capital.
Jersey were first on the scoresheet with try scored by Gary Graham from a catch and drive move, as Jersey capitalised on a period of dominant play in the set pieces. Brendan Cope saw his conversion attempt agonisingly bounce back off the upright.
Welsh scored a converted try in each half, both courtesy of moments of individual brilliance, helped by fortunate bounces.
Jersey pressed throughout and were disappointed not to register another try.
As the clock showed 80 minutes, Cope opted to convert a penalty to reduce the deficit and ensure that the bonus point was secured.
