London Scottish FC have been deducted one competition point,
suspended for one season (2014-15). The sanction is the result of a
Championship regulatory breach that occurred during Jersey RFC v
London Scottish on Saturday April 19.
During the game, London Scottish number 3 was injured, left the
field of play and was replaced with the number 18. The Substitution
card was altered and the word "Concussion" added as a reason for
the replacement. At the 39th minute, London Scottish number 3
returned to the field of play, replacing number 18. At
half-time, the referee and officials from both teams agreed that
there is no pitch side concussion assessment (PCA) protocol in the
Greene King IPA Championship, meaning number 3 was incorrectly on
the field of play prior to half-time.
The Panel concluded that each Championship club has a duty to
comply with and understand the competition Regulations and that
whilst London Scottish admitted the error, the Panel felt a
suspended one point deduction was accurate when considering a) the
effect of the breach on the fixture and b) the level of competition
and team management.
London Scottish has the right to appeal this decision of the
Organising Committee and must do so within 14 days.
