Anticipating a large crowd at St Peter, JRFC have advised fans
to get to the ground early, and consider other means of getting to
the game other than driving themselves.
All members and supporters are reminded about the option of bus
travel to St Peter, in partnership with the Mybus service operated
by Connex - this takes just 17 minutes from St Helier on the number
9 route. Club members can get free travel on the outward journey on
production of their membership cards, while all spectators can get
a free return trip after the game by producing their match
ticket.
Pre-match buses on the number 9 leave Liberation Station at 1150
and 1350, with returns after the match at 1650, 1708 and 1808.
Spectators can also use the number 15 airport service and disembark
at the Mermaid stop, although no concessions are available on this
route.
Those who do wish to drive will be able to park on pitch 3,
accessed via the Jersey Bowl entrance off the airport road, and on
pitch 6 which can be accessed from Rue des Sauvalleries, off Rue
des Landes (first turning on the right after the entrance to JRFC
carpark).
"The club will be working with the Honorary Police in St Peter
to make sure things run smoothly, and members of the JRFC Academy
will also be lending a hand and holding an optional bucket
collection in aid of their chosen charity Brighter Futures," states
Bill Dempsey. "We'll be able to accommodate everyone, although we
would urge spectators to consider other ways of getting to the
game, particularly by bus.
"Fans can also beat the rush by arriving early, so we hope
they'll do that and that it'll be another good day for the club,
and the island."
Extra staff will be available in bars and catering outlets to
help look after hungry/ thirsty spectators.
