Jersey Head Coach Harvey Biljon has revealed his squad for the
vital match against Plymouth Albion as both sides resume their
2014/15 Greene King IPA Championship campaigns.
Saturday's clash at St Peter (kick-off 3pm) is a vital one for
both sides: Jersey are looking to build on a modest start to the
league season and push on from their current position in eighth
place in the league table; 12th-place Albion will also be striving
for victory having not won a competitive match since March 8th. The
Devon side's 15-game run since then began with defeat at Jersey's
hands and they suffered the same fate in their most recent outing
when the two sides met in the British & Irish Cup at
Brickfields.
"It is a very big game, the start of a three-game burst of
league action that includes trips to London Scottish and
Worcester," said Biljon. "We lost both our opening league matches
this season and want to get that winning feeling back for our home
support at St Peter."
Biljon's starting XV has four changes in personnel and three
positional switches from the side who travelled to Bedford in early
October.
Joel Dudley comes into the scrum-half position following injury
to Nicky Griffiths, Mark Foster is selected at right wing and Grant
Pointer moves to full-back in place of Jack Burroughs. Jonny
Bentley retains the fly-half berth in spite of a strong showing
during recent B&I Cup games by Aaron Penberthy.
In the forwards, Dave Markham (pictured above in free-scoring
mode against Carmarthen) and Nick Campbell team up in the engine
room, with Pierce Phillips ruled out through injury and skipper
Alex Rae slotting in at blind-side; Nick Haining moves across the
back row to number 8 in place of Michael Noone.
Noone, Penberthy and Burroughs are on the Jersey replacements'
bench alongside scrum-half Ryan Glynn and the front row trio of
'Nacho' Lancuba, Gareth Harris and Jon Brennan.
