Jersey ran out comfortable winners in the end against a spirited
Club side who continued to compete at all levels throughout the
match.
Following a 20 min spell of pressure in the first half, where
Blackheath held the territorial advantage, Jersey got on to the
score sheet with a try by Hodson from a 'catch and drive' movement
following a line out.
Two more scores followed, all successfully converted by Bell to
make it 21-0 at half time.
The 2nd half score of 4 tries to 2 to Jersey perhaps slightly
flattered the home side as Blackheath stuck to the task and
certainly matched the hosts for periods of play.
All in all though a good afternoon, and a useful confidence
booster ahead of next week's trip to Moseley, and the start of the
season for real.
