Jersey Director of Rugby Ben Harvey has announced a 'squad of
two halves' for the crucial Greene King IPA Championship clash with
Ealing Trailfinders at St
Peter tomorrow (k-o
2.30pm).
Jersey's starting pack will be the same for the third game
running, and Harvey will also use four of the same forward
replacements on his bench as in the selection for last Sunday's
game against Leeds, with just one change as Tom Brown returns in
place of James Voss.
The changed section of the squad comes behind the scrum,
with a number of injuries forcing Harvey's hand: Jimmy Williams and
Niall O'Connor remain as half-backs, but Mark Foster moves inside
to centre while Joel Dudley and James Copsey will play wing.
20-year-old Academy graduate Jack Burroughs (below) is on the bench
and stands by to make his league debut.
Jersey and Ealing will renew a rivalry that developed when both
were in the National Leagues: in 2010/11 Jersey did the double over
the Londoners in National Two South but were pipped to automatic
promotion by Ealing and went up via the play-off. The following
season Ealing claimed victory at St Peter, but lost at home to
Jersey as the Islanders took the SSE National One title and sealed
promotion to the Championship.
