The Greene King IPA Championship fixtures for 2015/16 are announced today.
Games against Yorkshire Carnegie will book-end Jersey's league campaign, with a trip to Headingley on the first weekend of September, and Carnegie coming to St Peter in late April.
As in 2012/13, Jersey's first home league match will be against Cornish Pirates (pictured below), with the return fixture a festive affair scheduled for the last weekend of December.
All the games have been scheduled for a weekend slot which includes Friday to Sunday. It is the home club's prerogative to elect which day the match will be played, and the kick-off time, and these details will be announced in due course by our opponents.
Details of Jersey RFC's home games at St Peter will also be confirmed at a later date. Although we anticipate that the majority of league games will take place in the traditional Saturday afternoon slot, there will be some games played on Fridays.
Details of the 2015/16 British & Irish Cup will be released at a later date, with the first matches played on the weekend of November 13th-15th.
Supporters seeking to make travel arrangements for any games should note that there is a provision in the Championship regulations that host clubs can alter kick-off times up to July 31st. While this is not likely to affect many fixtures, exact timings for each game may still be subject to change until the end of July.
* Championship regulations stipulate that games in the final round will all kick off at the same time on Saturday April 23rd.
