The club has also confirmed a flat rate of £15 for all adult
spectators at the pre-season friendly with Leicester Tigers on
Saturday August 11. Juniors aged under 17 will be admitted free to
this game, with proof-of-age required.
'The success of the club in reaching the Championship has
knock-on implications in terms of the investment required, both on
the playing side and in terms of our facilities,' stated Chairman
Bill Dempsey. 'Consequently we have raised admission prices, as
well as simplifying the many categories of membership formerly
available.
'We believe that this is good value for members who choose to
purchase 'early-bird' season tickets and compares favourably with
other clubs at Championship level, as does the £15 ticket price for
a non-member who opts to turn up on match-day.'
As well as the chance of discounted admission rates, membership
offers other benefits such as voting rights at meetings, special
members' events and the chance to apply for international
tickets.
Dempsey added: 'The Leicester Tigers' game is a prestige fixture
for JRFC which has required significant investment on the club's
part, consequently we will be charging £15 to all adults for this
hugely-anticipated match.'
Director of Rugby Ben Harvey also addressed the AGM regarding
planning for 2012/13. He said an announcement about new signings
would be made after the start of pre-season training in June,
however he did confirm the return of two former players to the 1st
XV squad.
Ex-captain Talite 'Vee' Vaoileti is returning to Jersey with his
wife and family after two seasons playing in Yorkshire for
Wharfedale and Rotherham. Meanwhile, prop forward Ross 'Cubie'
Kenwright will also take his place in the squad after a season's
sabbatical.
'I'm delighted to have players of Vee and Cubie's calibre
re-joining the squad, they will be a real asset to the club and
provide the strength-in-depth required as we step up to the higher
level,' stated Ben Harvey.
