Jersey scrum-half Sami Fisilau will miss his club's first two matches of next season. The Tongan international has received a fortnight's ban following his red card against Yorkshire Carnegie in the final league game of the Championship season on April 23rd.
Fisilau was sent off in the 75th minute of the game at St Peter after coming on as a replacement. He was subsequently charged with, and pleaded guilty to the offence of 'Kicking', contrary to Law 10.4 (c)
Head Coach Harvey Biljon said: "Sami was banned for making contact with the shoulder of an opponent with his boot, but there was no intent in what happened.
"It's a fair sanction and Sami has apologised to the club. We won't appeal. No-one likes to have a player cited or banned, but overall we can be proud of our disciplinary record over recent seasons.
"The person it hurts most, of course, is Sami himself, as he'll miss the opportunity to stake an early claim for a starting role next season."
