Jersey Reds are pleased to confirm that England will then begin preparations for their three November Test matches with a week’s training camp in Jersey [25-29 October]. Head Coach Eddie Jones, his players and support staff will be hosted by the Reds, as well as using the facilities at the Strive high performance centre, adjacent to the rugby club.
The training camp follows similar programmes held by the British and Irish Lions in June, and two Gallagher Premiership clubs - Leicester Tigers and Sale Sharks - as part of their pre-season preparations.
Eddie Jones commented: “Jersey has a strong rugby community, and the new Strive centre is an outstanding facility with a state-of-the-art training centre, alongside the Jersey Reds’ facilities.
“We usually go to Portugal but with the challenges presented by Covid-19, it has given us the opportunity to try a new facility and we’re looking forward to spending some time there and working hard this autumn.”
Jersey Reds Chairman Mark Morgan said: “We are thrilled to welcome yet another high-profile visiting rugby side to our club and our Island. We look forward to ensuring Eddie and his team can host a great camp as the England boys prepare for their autumn campaign.”
England have a three-match programme at Twickenham Stadium, hosting Tonga on November 6th, Australia on November 13th and South Africa on November 20th. Jones has also confirmed two new faces for his coaching team - see HERE for full details.
