Everyone at JRFC has been saddened to learn of the death of former player and 1st XV coach Colin Cook.
'Cookie' died on Wednesday April 20th in Spain, where he had made his home since leaving Jersey almost 20 years ago.
Colin first came to Jersey as a 25-year-old in 1969 and grew strong roots on the Island after meeting and marrying his wife Linda.
Between 1971 and 1982 the former rugby league player was a regular in the Jersey 1st XV, including a proud unbeaten record in Siam Cup encounters against old rivals Guernsey.
From 1998 to 2002, Colin and Rad Montgomery were the coaching duo in charge of the 1st XV. The attached picture shows the Jersey Evening Post article published on April 27th 2002, the day on which the duo hung up their 'coaching boots' after overseeing yet another Siam success.
Colin's family have stated that details of a memorial service to be staged in Jersey will be made available in due course, following his funeral in Spain.
The club would like to offer condolences to Linda Cook, the couple's sons Adam and Matt and to the rest of Colin's family.
