After a bright start, and dominating much of the first period to
take a narrow 3-8 lead into half time, Jersey could not maintain
their advantage and ultimately went down by 25-20 away at
Goldington road.
It was a disappointing result on an afternoon that promised so
much more, and Jersey did have a chance with a 'catch and drive' in
the dieing minutes to score a 4th BP try to take maximum points,
but unfortunately Harris was unable to hit his man, and the chance
went begging.
After the heroic, victorious scenes at the end of last season at
the same venue, it was a very different look on the faces of the
travelling faithful as the final whistle sounded, and Bedford were
instead all smiles.
