On a dramatic afternoon of Championship rugby, Jersey produced
arguably their best performance of the season to secure a
try-scoring bonus point win over Bedford Blues to assure that they
will compete for a third season in the 2nd tier of English
rugby.
In a game that had a bit of everything, saw the lead change
hands, and a Le Booj try against his old teammates to level the
scores at 31-31 at one point, it was courage and determination from
the Reds that saw them take the spoils and see Ealing relegated
back to National 1.
Ealing themselves put in an amazing 2nd half comeback and scored
4 tries in the process of going down 29-36 against Rotherham, but
it wasn't quite enough.
An emotional Biljon, after the game, complimented the players
and thanked the vociferous travelling support. "Its now that the
hard work starts", he said!
