Gloucester will become the second Aviva Premiership side to visit Jersey this month as the build-up to the new season intensifies.
Jersey Reds take on Harlequins in a pre-season challenge at Stade Santander International this Saturday, kicking off at 7pm, and three days later the Reds' squad will join another top-tier outfit, Gloucester, for a contested training session.
The Gloucester squad will include one of Jersey's most renowned players, Matt Banahan, who moved north from Bath this season to join the Cherry-and-Whites after 12 years at The Rec since leaving his native Island as a teenager. Among Gloucester's other summer signings this year was Matt's former England team-mate Danny Cipriani.
The training session with Gloucester will be open to spectators: the Clubhouse will open at 4.30pm, with the players taking to the field at 5.30pm. Training should wrap up by 7pm, when there will be a barbecue and a chance to meet the Reds' squad for the new season, including the 16 new signings who arrived this summer.
Admission to the ground will be free, while BBQ tickets are available at £10 per person - please book by emailing Ops Manager Sean Dunne.
This Saturday's match with Harlequins is one of the most eagerly-awaited games on the Island for some time, with the Reds taking on one of the most famous names in global club rugby. It's the second consecutive season the sides have locked horns, the Londoners taking the honours 12 months ago, winning 47-21 in a match that featured 10 tries.
Tickets for the Harlequins' match can be obtained in advance via the Eventbrite site
