Jersey RFC is gearing up for one of the biggest matches in the
club's history.
Saturday's encounter with Doncaster Knights
sees the bottom two sides in the RFU Championship play against each
other. A win for 11th-placed Jersey is likely to consign the
Knights to relegation, but the visitors from Yorkshire know that
they can take the issue into a nerve-jangling final week should
they achieve victory at St Peter.
It goes without saying, but we'll say it anyway, that Jersey are
looking for a huge crowd to get behind the Island side at St Peter.
The team's first season in the Championship, among the top 24 clubs
in the English rugby pyramid, has been a tough one, but Jersey's
competitiveness has increased as the season has progressed. There
is genuine optimism about becoming established in the Championship
in 2013/14 - if Jersey's current league status can be
maintained.
Tickets for the big game are now available, priced £15. A
concession rate of £3 is available for juniors aged 13-16
inclusive, or for full-time students on production of appropriate
ID. Tickets can be purchased from the club every week-day this week
between 9am and 2pm, and on additionally on Friday evening between
5pm and 7.30pm. Tickets are also available from the JEP offices at
Five Oaks between 8.30am and 5pm Monday-Friday, and in St Helier
from Red Properties on the Esplanade (opposite Liberation Bus
Station) between 9am and 5pm Monday-Friday.
Tickets will continue to be sold on the day of the game, from
12noon, subject to availability, however the club is encouraging
spectators to buy in advance to avoid likely queues on
match-day.

bumper crowd. This includes extra bus services to the ground,
additional car parking, and a temporary marquee bar in the club car
park. Further details will be published later in the week.
