Jersey Rugby Football Club is seeking a Media Intern for the
2013/14 season as the club looks to flourish off the field as well
as on it. The role will give the successful applicant the
opportunity to work within the professional sporting environment of
a Greene King IPA Championship Club for an eight to twelve month
period.
The position will give the chosen intern an opportunity to
experience life in a fast-moving industry and would ideally suit a
student looking to fill a long-term work placement, or a recent
graduate looking to break into sports journalism.
Duties will include:
* Writing copy and helping to produce the new Jersey RFC match day
programme, official website and all commercial and marketing
literature
* Assisting the Communications Department with the external press
and co-ordinating press conferences/days
* Assisting the Commercial and Media Managers during the week and
on match days
* General PR and Marketing administration
The suitable candidate will possess excellent writing skills,
strong IT competencies, a good eye for detail and have the ability
to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines. Experience in
journalism and/or producing publications would be beneficial, and
knowledge of Jersey Rugby Football Club and rugby union in general
is preferable, but by no means essential.
The role will involve working at weekends and some unsocial
hours.
This is an excellent opportunity to build a significant portfolio
in journalism, as well as working in a quickly growing and
ambitious professional sporting club looking to raise its
profile.
Applicants must have a five-year Jersey residential qualification.
To apply, send a covering letter and CV to Commercial &
Marketing Manager Gareth Alred at the address or email below
