Jersey minds are focussed on critical clash
Following their emphatic away victory at Plymouth last week,
Jersey will be determined to avoid complacency as they travel to
Ealing on Friday night for what promises to be a defining fixture
of the season for both clubs.
The two last met in late November in what proved to be a
disappointing 18-28 home defeat for the men from the Channel
Islands. A subsequent reshuffle in personnel since that day has
contributed to steadily improving form of late, which Jerseywill
seek to build on this weekend.
The backline sees the return of Nicky Griffiths at 9 and Grant
Pointer, having recovered from a knock sustained in the Leeds game
2 weeks ago, assumes normal service at 14.
Nick Campbell returns to the starting in place of the injured
Dave Markham. On the bench, Dave Felton is sidelined for another
week through injury and so youngster Luke Stratford who continues
to impress at hooker, makes up one of 4 forward replacements in a
4:3 split. Following a brief hiatus of late, Niall O'Connor is
given the nod to provide extra cover to an increasingly cohesive
back division.
