Jersey's home match against Mosely on Saturday 29th
March raised £9,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support (Jersey). Jersey
Rugby Football Club (JRFC) had a strip commissioned for the game
with Macmillan Jersey's logo on it and auctioned off four on behalf
of the charity. The charity also benefitted from a portion of table
sales in the hospitality tent, raffle proceeds and donations on the
day.
Macmillan Jersey manned an awareness stand with information on
its services and gave out information on prostate cancer as March
is Prostate Cancer Awareness month.
Brian Frith, Chairman of Macmillan Jersey, said: "This event was
a fantastic success for us. The JRFC and their supporters were so
generous and we're very grateful for everyone's contributions to
our charity. It was also a fantastic opportunity for us to raise
awareness about prostate cancer and our services at Macmillan
Jersey for anyone affected by any type of cancer here on the
Island."
