JRFC are looking to recruit a replacement Head Physiotherapist
for the coming season.

- Type of contract: This position is being
offered on a full-time basis for a fixed term of two seasons from
1st July 2014 - 31st May 2016.

- Salary range: From £35,000, depending upon
experience
- Location: Jersey Rugby Football Club, or any
other venue that is deemed necessary in order to fulfil work
duties
- Annual leave entitlement: 20 days of paid
leave together with statutory and public holidays where practical.
Annual leave can be taken at such time(s) as may be approved by the
Head Coach
- Hours of work: You will be expected to work
appropriate hours in order to fully carry out your
responsibilities. The role is based on an average 37.5 hours /
week, however this will be flexible due to the nature and demands
of the role and will involve evening and weekend work. The nature
of the role will on occasions require working in excess of these
hours to meet the demands of the players. As lieu time is accured,
this time can be claimed back as and when appropriate and approved
by the Head Coach
- Job description
The Head Physiotherapist will work as part of a multi-disciplinary
team to deliver a high quality service to athletes in partnership
with the Team Doctor and coaching staff. This will cover day-to-day
management and match-day medical, rehabilitation, injury prevention
and specialised duties as required. The Physiotherapist will liaise
with the Head Coach, coaching and conditioning staff on all
physiotherapy related issues within the Jersey Rugby squad
- Reports to: Head Coach, Team Doctor, Chariman
of Jersey Rugby Football Club
- Essential criteria: This highly motivated Head
Physiotherapist will provide accurate diagnosis and oversee
treatment and rehabilitation of the players. Formulate,
co-ordinate, supervise and deliver detailed recorded
prehabilitiation and rehabilitation programmes for players in
consultation with the Team Doctor. Liaise with the MDT regarding
the progress of all injured players to ensure accurate injury
information can be disseminated to the coaching staff
All applicants must demonstrate:
- Membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (MCSP) and
registered with the Health Professions Council (HPC) and States of
Jersey (and AACP if necessary)
- A minimum of 5 years post-registration clinical experience
which includes a minimum of 3 years post-graduate experience as
team physiotherapist to a professional rugby team
- Up-to-date Advanced Sports Trauma Management certificate (or
achieved for start date) eg ICIS or REMO
- Commitment to supporting high performance athletes
- Ability to perform as part of a team
- Preferably be working towards or hold a Post-graduate diploma /
Masters degree in sports physiotherapy, sports exercise and
medicine, sports injury or rehabilitation science
- Excellent communication and 'people' skills
- Excellent organisational and administration skills
Desirable criteria
The following skills and experience would be considered
favourable:
- Evidence of advanced musculoskeletal clinical skills
- A post-graduate qualification in sports and / or
musculoskeletal physiotherapy or sports science
- Experience of working with other sporting teams
- A record of success in developing and implementing injury
prevention programmes
- General level of physical fitness for working pitch side
- Sports massage qualifications to SMA level or equivalent

- The delivery of best practice sports physiotherapy services to
the Jersey Rugby Football club players
- The development and implementation of best practice injury
prevention protocols
- Strong and effective working relationships with the coaches,
players and other members of the MDT
- Maintain an effective, up to date injury monitoring
database
- Engage in CPD in the practice of sports physiotherapy to ensure
the delivery of physiotherapy services that reflect best
international practice
