As Jersey's senior squad get ready for the forthcoming season,
members and supporters will have the chance to meet the players and
watch them in action at a special open training session.
On the evening of Tuesday August 12th, both the 1st team and
Athletic players will train together at St Peter. Supporters can
watch the action over a drink, after which there'll be an evening
meal and a question-and-answer session with Head Coach Harvey
Biljon and selected players.
"All the players have been working hard in training ahead of
their pre-season matches," said Chairman Bill Dempsey. "Much of
this work takes place away from the public eye, but we wanted to
have a chance for supporters to catch some of the action, and meet
the players, particularly the new faces, before they pull on a
Jersey shirt for the first time when we take on Ayr."
Dempsey added: "The Jersey Athletic players are also back in
training and this will be a good chance for all players to get to
know each other and impress the coaching team."
The evening will start at 6.30pm with drinks in the Barclays
Pavilion. The hour-long training session concludes at 7.30pm, and
food will be served upstairs in the Clubhouse at any time from 7pm
until 7.45pm. The players will join supporters upstairs after
training, and the Q&A session will run from approximately
8.15pm until 9pm.
All are invited to the event - places are £6 which includes a
welcome drink on arrival, supper of lasagne, chips and salad,
followed by a selection of cheese and a glass of wine. To reserve
your spot, please email sean.dunne@jrfc.je, or call 499929
