Jersey RFC have confirmed the departure of Aaron Penberthy at the end of the current season after a three-year stay on the Island.
Penberthy, 23, joined the Reds from Cornish Pirates in summer 2013 and has made around 50 appearances for Jersey, split between the fly-half and full-back positions.
Head Coach Harvey Biljon said: "Aaron and I have talked at length about his future, and I have told him that I think the best thing for him at this stage of his career is to seek a new challenge where he will get more regular game-time.
"We have known each other for a long time, since we were both at Pirates, but decisions like this are part of the nature of professional sport. Aaron's made a significant contribution during his time here - the club is grateful for what he's done and wishes him well for the future."
Biljon added that he expected Penberthy to make his final appearance for Jersey in the Ipes Siam Cup clash with Channel Island rivals Guernsey. The annual encounter will be staged in Guernsey on Saturday May 7th.
