This week sees an important christening for one of the best-known faces at Jersey RFC - please meet Jèrri!
The new name for our Club Mascot was chosen after supporters were invited to submit their suggestions during October.
"We'd like to thank everyone who was in touch with proposed names," said Members' Representative Tom Innes. "Supporters of all ages had given the subject a lot of thought and there were plenty of imaginative and appropriate suggestions.
"Our selection panel unanimously agreed that Jèrri, which is the word for Jersey in the Island's native language Jèrriais, was the best option, and we look forward to seeing our newly-named mascot in action for the first time this weekend when we take on Doncaster Knights at St Peter."
The new name, or very close versions of it, was proposed by Linda Dodds, Philip Barber and Roger Trower, and suitable thank-you gifts will be arranged for all of them.
