On a day that was as much about local charity, Jersey Action Against Rape - 'JAAR', Jersey battled to a gripping bonus point win in front of an ecstatic home crowd.
Having at one point built up a convincing 21-3 advantage in the first half, Jersey let Bedford back into the game and went in at half-time with only a narrow 21-17 advantage.
The second half was tense throughout. The Blues had a break away try from their own 22 which was converted to level the scores after Jersey had converted an earlier penalty. There was an exchange of penalties to tie the scores again before Jersey got the crucial bonus point try from a catch and drive move, and then held on for the win.
Not a game for the faint-hearted, this was a huge result for the relieved home-faithful.
