Jersey Reds lost out by a single point in a thrilling, but ultimately heart-breaking, British & Irish Cup Final.
In an amazing start to the game, the Reds scored a try after 70 seconds when Ross Adair freed Nick Scott to scoot over in the corner. Callum Sheedy missed a difficult conversion, but added two penalties to make it 0-11.
Things got even better for the visitors when a beautifully-worked lineout move saw hooker Joe Buckle take a pass from Gary Graham and go over for a try, with Sheedy's conversion making it 0-18.
The home side were rattled and made a series of errors and it was not until the last minute of the half that the Munstermen grabbed a crucial try to make it 7-18 at the break.
Another try within 80 seconds of the restart and it was 14-18, but then Kieran Hardy burst clear and the margin was back out to 11 with Sheedy's conversion. But the home side produced a vastly improved display and were un recognisable, and two tries and a conversion put them ahead 26-25.
Sheedy was able to nudge the Reds back in front but home kicker David Johnston crowned an impressive display with what turned out to be the winning penalty 10 minutes from time.
