Jersey Reds Strength and Conditioning Coach Jim Molony has agreed a new contract that will keep him at St Peter until at least the end of the 2018/19 season.
Molony arrived on the Island in February 2015 and has been an important part of the Reds' coaching team during the past two years.
"It's great to have another key member of our coaching team confirmed for next season and beyond," said Chairman Mark Morgan. "With our Head Coach [Harvey Biljon] also having recently signed a new contract, the Club has a very solid base on which to build for the future."
Harvey Biljon added: "Jim's work may be largely unseen outside the camp, but he plays a really important role in getting the squad into shape during pre-season and then shaping their conditioning once matches begin in August.
After completing a degree in Sports Rehabilitation from the University of Salford, Molony gained experience working with a number of strength coaches in the USA prior to returning to his native Ireland. He worked for Munster for two years and then in summer 2011 joined neighbouring Irish province Connacht.
Jim Molony said: "I've really enjoyed the two years I've spent in Jersey so far - the Island's a great place to live and work, and I'm looking forward to playing my part over the next couple of seasons. We've got a very important period coming up to finish 2016/17 and I'll be doing my best to have the players in good shape for the run-in."
