Jersey Reds take on Richmond next weekend, with both the 1st Team and Jersey Reds Athletic in action.
The first weekend of the Greene King IPA Championship sees newly-promoted Richmond host the Reds at the Richmond Athletic Ground - kick-off is at 2pm.
This is the first match between the clubs at 1st XV level since February 2011, when Jersey won 29-9 at St Peter en route to promotion from National Two South.
The cost of match tickets for the Championship curtain-raiser at the RAG is £13 (to those who aren't members of Richmond) if pre-booked or £15 on the gate. Pre-booked tickets can be bought on line (a small admin fee is payable) - click HERE. There is no additional charge for grandstand seats, which are available on a 'first-come-first-served' basis.
A pre-match lunch is available at a cost of £28/head and includes a three-course meal and a match programme (but not match entrance). Lunch will be 12noon start to sit down at 12.15pm. Lunch bookings should be made by email to Jen Gadsby-Peet - final bookings are required by the morning of Thursday September 1st.
The bars will of course be open, as well as the canteen serving burgers, hot dogs etc.
Spectators travelling by road to the RAG are advised to allow extra time for their journeys as a result of roadworks on the A316.
For those who aren't able to get to London, there's an equally-appetising offer back on the Island, with Jersey Reds Athletic taking on Richmond in a Zoo Sports Shield match at St Peter - kick-off at 2pm.
The match sees Athletic, fourth in last season's Zoo Shield Division One, look to build on a fantastic pre-season win over Guernsey Raiders last Saturday. But it won't be easy against a Vikings side who are defending Shield champions.
Make an afternoon of it to kick off the season in style - book now for your pre-match lunch in the Jersey Reds clubhouse - the cost is just £15 and details are HERE.
The opening home league game for the 1st XV is Bedford Blues on Saturday September 10th, kick-off 3pm. For fixture info, click on the links below:
