The Jersey Reds 1st XV fixture list for the forthcoming season is almost finalised.
With just over a week until the first pre-season match, only a couple of outstanding details remain to be confirmed in the 2016/17 schedule.
After pre-season matches at home to Coventry, Amptill and Worcester Warriors on the first three Saturdays in August, the Reds' opening game in the Greene King IPA Championship will be in south-west London on Saturday September 3rd against newly-promoted Richmond. The following Saturday, Bedford Blues will travel to the Island to take on the Reds at St Peter.
The second home game of the season will be a 'Friday Night Lights' occasion on Friday September 23rd, when Nottingham visit St Peter. This is one of four Friday matches, the others being the British & Irish Cup games against Cardiff Blues Premiership Select and London Scottish, and the league clash with Yorkshire Carnegie. Nine Championship matches and the B&I game against Ulster 'A' will be played on Saturday afternoons.
Three fixtures remain to be finalised: the B&I away fixtures against Ulster 'A' (mid-October) and Cardiff Blues Premiership Select (mid-January); and the Ipes Siam Cup against Guernsey Raiders in late April/ early May.

Jersey Reds Athletic will start their season with a pre-season match against Guernsey on Saturday August 27th, with an early kick-off at 10.30am to tie in with the visitors' travel arrangements. The Athletic fixtures for the 2016/17 Zoo Shield will be confirmed in the coming days.
