The Jersey Reds' squad for next season is close to completion after the club confirmed the signing of hooker Charlie Maddison.
Maddison, 26, has spent the last three years playing in the Greene King IPA Championship for Rotherham Titans, captaining the club in the past season and making around 60 appearances in total.
Born in Hexham in Northumberland, Maddison played junior rugby for nearby Tynedale RFC, and subsequently attended Leeds Metropolitan University; during his time in Leeds he captained the university XV and also played National 1 rugby for Darlington Mowden Park.
Head Coach Harvey Biljon said: "I'm looking forward to working with Charlie - I've seen him play on several occasions during our matches against Rotherham, and he's a whole-hearted player who I expect to provide genuine competition for our other hookers."
With the new signing added in, a total of 33 players are currently confirmed as part of the Reds' squad for 2018/19. The players will commence their pre-season schedule in early June.

Jersey Reds will face three summer games before next season's Championship programme kicks off at the start of September. French ProD2 side RC Vannes will visit the Island on July 28th, and this will be followed by two August games against English opponents at Stade Santander International: Aviva Premiership side Harlequins on August 11th and Old Elthamians from National 1 on August 18th.
