Aviva Premiership side Leicester Tigers have signed Jersey Reds second row James Voss, who has made the move to the Midlands with immediate effect.
Voss, 23, leaves the Island having made more than 70 1st XV appearances for the Reds since his debut as a 17-year-old in 2011. He spent two seasons with Gloucester and Hartpury from 2014-16, subsequently returning to Jersey and becoming a key part of the Reds' pack over the past two seasons.
Jersey Reds Chairman Mark Morgan said: “We’re disappointed to lose James at this stage of the season, with some big matches in the closing weeks of the season that he would have been part of. But this move is further evidence that Jersey is certainly on the radar of top-level clubs because of the work we do in developing players. We are particularly proud of James as he is a product of our Minis and Juniors and Colts sections.
"Leicester wanted James to make the move immediately and we were able to agree terms for this to happen in time for last week’s transfer deadline. We wish him all the best for the next stage of his rugby career.”
