Jersey Reds have confirmed the date when Aviva Premiership side Harlequins will visit the Island for a pre-season match.
The Reds will take on Harlequins on Saturday August 11th at Stade Santander International. Kicking off at 7pm (please note revised time), the fixture is the second leg of a two-match series agreed last summer, when the Reds visited The Stoop in both clubs' final pre-season encounter.
The match last August was an entertaining affair, featuring 10 tries, seven of which were claimed by the hosts as they registered a 47-21 win.
Jersey Head Coach Harvey Biljon said: "We're thrilled to have a confirmed date to entertain Harlequins. The match should be a fantastic occasion, and a real treat for our supporters to see an elite side running out at our home ground.
"There's a lot of rugby still to be played this season, but we are already preparing for next year. Taking on a high calibre opponent will provide a really good challenge for our new squad before the next league campaign gets underway."
This will be the sixth time that the Reds have taken on Premiership opposition since reaching the Greene King IPA Championship in 2012. Leicester Tigers visited St Peter in 2012 and 2013, and the following year Bath made the trip to the Island. In 2016, the Reds achieved their first win over a top-flight side, defeating Worcester Warriors 23-17 at St Peter.
